Luctonians Sports Club has always supported local charities because we believe it is important to give back to the community. In 2016, it was decided to create a charity group with their objectives being to raise funds for local charities, support the club’s charitable activities, and raise awareness for the causes we support.
To introduce the charity group to Luctonians, we developed the idea of hosting a 1st XV Charity Day. Our first Charity Day, “Lucs in Pink,” took place in 2017. On this day, the 1st XV wore a special pink kit, which was then auctioned off after the game. In addition, there was also a raffle and auction run alongside the hospitality day. It raised nearly £10,000 for the charity Breast Cancer Haven and so ever since the Charity Day has become a firm favourite in our rugby calendar.
Throughout the course of the season, our charity group runs raffles and events to fundraise money. Each season they select several charities to support.
