Luctonians in the Community

When COVID hit in 2020, much like the rest of the world Luctonains closed its door. Aware that many of our community could become isolated or alone. The Luctonians Community jumped into action. Our Members and Staff supported vulnerable members of the community buy delivering groceries, running errands and much more. In addition, Luctonians Staff and Volunteers used Luctonians extensive social media reach to promote job opportunities within the local community. They also linked up Sponsors of the club with members of the community who needed work.

Across the lockdown periods, Luctonians set challenges for their members, to ensure our members felt connected to the club.

Luctonians Operations team ensured that all members, sponsors and followers were kept up to date and in the loop. Once outside exercise was allowed, the club facilitated the use of our grounds for our members. Members were encouraged to get out and be active. Rugby made a staggered return and in addition to physical activities the club’s staff and volunteers hosted online events and competitions to keep the Luctonians community connected. Director of Operations, Alex Smith, utilised the club newsletter to keep members and supporters connected and updated about the club as things progressed.  The clubs social media team uploaded old game videos to the clubs social media channels, providing members with the opportunity to relive these games.

League Rugby made a return in September 2021 where all teams were all teams were allowed to start the new rugby season.
