Luctonians in the Community

What a fantastic day for junior netball!

On Sunday 26th April, Luctonians Netball Club proudly welcomed teams from five different counties for one of the biggest junior tournaments we’ve ever hosted — and what a success it was. From U9s through to U15s, across four age groups, the courts were filled with energy, teamwork, talent, and plenty of smiles throughout the day.

We couldn’t be prouder of our own players and their performances:

  • Jungle Cats (U11s) delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 4th out of 9 teams — a brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved.
  • Black Bobcats (U13s) competed in an incredibly tight competition, finishing 6th out of 12 teams, narrowly missing 5th place on goal difference. A fantastic effort.
  • Pink Bobcats (U13s) took to the court for their very first matches together as a team and made us incredibly proud with their determination, teamwork, and attitude.
  • Leopards (U15s) fought hard to secure an impressive 4th place finish, made even more remarkable as they competed without a full squad. A special thank you goes to the U13 players who stepped up to support the team.

This event would not have been possible without the support of so many people. A huge thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers and coaching team, all the clubs, players, coaches and umpires who attended, and the friends and families who came along to support.

We are also incredibly grateful to Hereford Academy for hosting us on their outdoor courts, Birmingham Panthers for their support and for presenting medals, and All Star Activities for sponsoring the event.

With sunshine overhead, high-quality netball on display, and an amazing atmosphere throughout, the day perfectly captured what grassroots sport is all about.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!
