The final round of the Year 7 Rugby Competition – The Sinclair Defender Schools Series, was played out in early December and once more, there was some excellent rugby on display with over 50 girls enjoying a decent evening of activity.
Weobley High School walked away as series champions, as they picked up their second round win, with a crucial 3-1 win in the final game over Earl Mortimer College, who ran them all the way. That last game, was almost a final in itself to decide the overall winner, with EMC having shown excellent form in their previous two games with wins over both Wigmore and Lady Hawkins.
Wigmore pipped 3rd on the day and 3rd overall in the Series standings, whilst Lady Hawkins managed the same achievement in 4th.
Thank you to all the teachers who brought the sides over, to our volunteer referees and most importantly to all the girls who took part across the three events, fantastic to see so many take up the sport for the first time and to see so many of them now coming across to Lucs to join in our Under 12s girls side.
